the normal IMG tags don't work in the signatures (at least I don't think so) so I put in the HTML code for it...
Should show on all your posts now!

Do I need to make the photo smaller?

What a wonderful picture.
Smaller would be better ( in deference to all the dialuppers here)
Thanks for asking :)

You're wish is my command :)
You just need to put the HTML code for images around it. Take a look at how it is now. :)

Hey everyone,
I've noticed that alot of people have animated avatars. I tried to create an animated gif in paintshop and shrink it but the size is still too big.
What do I need to do or what am i doing wrong?
Thanks :bounce:

By "too big"- I'm asuming you mean takes up too much memory? We have to keep them under 10MB. You can check the size of your avatar by looking at it's properties (open up the folder it's stored in, and right click it's icon/name- choose "properties").
If you're just a smidge over- say 11MBs- try clicking on the "Advance" tab- and clicking "compress contents to save disk space".
But unfortunately, animations take up a big chunk of space. You have to learn some tricks- the more complicated avatars I make (like the one I'm using right now, Tessiemom's and lotsadox's) all have the same background color throughout- when most of the pixels don't change per frame, it doesn't take up nearly as much memory.
Animation Studio (which is what it sounds like you're using?) gives you a preview of how large your .gif will be at the end. If it's over 10MB, backtrack and choose a "lesser" option. You'll lose some resolution, but it's very unlikely that you'll be able to keep an animation at top resolution and have it still be small enough.
If I'm wrong, and you just mean that it's too big dimensionally (it needs to be 60x60 pixels or less)- that's an easier fix. You can either size your frames in Paintshop- or let Animation Studio do it for you. :)
Oh, and if I told you I'd do one for you- I'm sooo sorry. I'm behind in a lot of things right now. School has me swamped until July. Kudos to you for getting out there and doing for yourself! :D

That's what I'm using - Animation Studio.
I did choose one background color so I guess I just need to use the "lesser" option.
I'll keep trying in my free time. I'm taking classes too and am swamped with homework.
Thanks!

Um... by 10MB... I REALLY meant 10KB!!
Low blood sugar? :)
If everybody had 10MB avatars, there better be some pretty darn massive drive space in our host's storage! ;)
Hope I didn't confuse you even MORE...
