<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm16.gif" border=0> I am happy to announce that I am going back to work, however, Sasha will be alone and I will not be able to come for lunch. Should I put a piddle pad in the kitchen, or what, I don't want to keep her in a crate for 8 hours. She is doing great with her outside potty training, and I imagine that this will set her back, but I can't pass up this job opportunity, help please<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm33.gif" border=0> <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm37.gif" border=0> <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm43.gif" border=0>

Congrats on the new job! I recommend using the pee pad. I put one down for Annie on the 2 days a week I'm away at the office, because I just can't see asking such a little dog to hold it for 10 hours! And 8 hours really is too long to crate without a break, anyway. It might set back the housetraining a little bit, but it shouldn't be a major problem.
Good luck!

Congrats on the new job. Be prepared for Sasha to possibly relapse a little on the training, as a change in her environment will affect her. A pee pad is a good idea, if she is confined to the kitchen, and keeping her from running free will give you peace of mind and prevent her from possibly injuring herself or getting into something that could harm her. I also agree that crateing for an entire day would be hard on her, as she is so young. A crate with an open door works for some, as it gives them a safe place to sleep, then they can go pee on the pad. Just don't be upset with her if she goes all over the place at first, she will get it in time. One more quick thought, kitchen trash can be dangerous to puppers, so taking the trash out or moving the can to a high place so she can't investigate it while you are at work is probably a good idea too. Best of luck. Shay
