It looks like Odie is a wirehaire dachsie - who knew??

They don't list him in the cast of characters though so he must have a minor role.

I don't think Odie ever talks does he? Maybe that's why they didn't list him in the cast of characters.

FYI: In our local paper (couldn't find it on the website), it said that a Chihuauhua theft ring going on down here! So far, 5 have been taken from an established breeder. These pups were only 3 weeks old. I wonder how they were stolen? I mean, these pups shouldn't have been left outside or unattended for very long, right? Never bred pups so I don't know the procedure but figure it's kinda like a newborn human. Constant care. Anyway, again just an FYI. Didn't mean to veer off the subject.

How 'bout that!?! I've seen the preview a few times, but Odie was only in it for a few frames and I took him to be some kind of terrier. Hopefully, the Odie in the movie isn't as dumb as the Odie in the comic strip-- that would be an insult to our dachsies!

to much to the wirehaired doxies popularity. I would hate to see them get into the puppy mill situation anymore than doxies already are. I wish those that see the movie and fall in love with the cute little doxie check out what it is like to live with one first. Not everyone is a good canidate for being a doxie owner as we all know. Just had to put in my 2 cents when I see dogs in movies cartoon or otherwise.

If any of you watch CMT (country music television) the new Clay Walker video 'I can't sleep' has a little black and tan dog in it. You only see him for a brief moment near the end of the video. He is sitting beside an old man that tells Clay Walker where to find his girlfriend.

The little fella looks like a b/t wire. He is all black with a tan beard. I could be wrong as I have never seen a wire in person; only pictures of them on this board and in books. If anyone else can i.d. the dog I won't be offended.
