Help! My little girl just turned one year old, and she still is a submissive pee-er! I was hoping that she would out grow it, but everytime someone bends down to pet her or if I ever have to scold her she lets out a little dribble. When I first come home I never speak to her until we are outside, and usually she will not piddle until after I talk to her. I am beginning to think that I have ignored this behavior so long that she thinks it is normal for her to do this (the vet told me it would stop when she was no longer a puppy). Is there anyway I can train her to realize that this is not acceptable?
Thank you!

Laura, others may have more up-to-date information on this topic (it has been discussed a LOT on this board!), but from my experience, the answer to your question is...No. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/uh-oh.gif If you scold or correct, you will only make the problem worse because she really can't control the dribbling.
I take it, from what you said, that she has been thoroughly checked out by your vet and there's nothing wrong. So really, all you can do is wait it out. Try to speak in a calm, low voice (as opposed to a high-pitched, excited one) when you speak to her. Don't make direct eye contact with her, and don't approach her from above--because both of these actions express your dominance, which will make her act submissively.
My 12-year-old girl, Peaches, was a submissive pee-er until she was...two. And then it just stopped. Just like that. She now has an iron bladder--she NEVER has accidents. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.....
