Request from Jack

Good Morning to all you doxie lovers,
My name is One-eyed Jack (Jack to my friends); anyhow, I have a favor to ask of you humans.
My owner ( Mr. Coe Thompson) is living in an assisted living situation and can no longer care for me—I live at the dachshund rescue, they take me back to see my owner as much as they can..
Now here is my request to all humans…June 12, my owner will be 92 years of age. Can any/all of you send him a birthday card, either with a dachshund on it or just a birthday card? It would really perk his day up.

I hope they aren't underestimating dachsie people- Mr. Thompson just may spend his entire 92nd year reading birthday cards! :lol:

I just took one of the Christmas photos and put it in a dachshund card addressed to him. Hopefully, he will have more cards than he can find room for!

I am going to go to try to find a card tomorrow. What about the dachsie? Does Jack have a home yet?............This is a very great idea to give a person a boost on their B-day. My husband is going to send one too. Now that I think about it, I am going to ask my son if he would like to also. I am sure that he will. I hope we all can make his day a happy one! Again, what about Jack?

I found a really cute dacshund card at CVS. I attached a pic of Harley inside.

Jack is staying with dachshund rescue so he can visit his dad right now. You could always write to the foster mom at the bottom of the original post and ask.

Adorable! Seems Mr. Thompson is going to get a lot of cute dachsie photos! We enclosed a couple of shots (individual) of our two - we can't get them to pose together either!

I would love to know how many bday cards Mr. Thompson actually gets!

Here is the answer from his foster mom:

I spoke with the staff on Wednesday and they said he has been sitting in the lobby and sharing his cards with the other members and the staff !!!!

We will be out there with Jack and another doxie, after lunch time tomorrow Saturday ( his birthday). I will get a count on Saturday and post it, okay???

Thanks again, Mr. Thompson has been not doing well and the has brought sparkle to his eyes !!!!

Ok, Rena you made me cry! I just told Lynn 'I wonder if Mr. Thompson has gotten his card from us yet'. I bet he'll be so surprised to see Jack tomorrow. What a cool birthday! :)
