One other question. Should I clean all the carpets before spot clening with Nature's Miracle? I have cleaned up the spots before with cleaners and just want to make sure I go about it in the correct way. Is Nature's Miracle better then Simple Solutions?

I would spot clean any spots with an enzyme cleaner.

As we have fosters coming through our house on a regular basis, we regularly clean our carpets (a steam cleaner is a fantastic investment) in case anyone had an accident that we didn't know about...it's also good for cleaning up after kids or husbands. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

I just found a wonderful cleaner, it is called castrol super cleaner. For carpet the dilution is quite high, like 16-1, but it works wonders!!! I may still need to use something like vinegar to remove the scent, still waiting to see if they still mark over this....., but it is working great on stains, spills, and it is multi-purpose, not just for carpets.

I saw the most awesome steam cleaner the other day, i have just the small litle green clean machine, which works fine, but covers only small areas; this one was really nice and is big, like a vacuum. i have added it to my wishlist for sure.......

yesterday we went from 8 dogs to 7, if i can get down to 6 or 5 before the puppies come in december, that would be so nice.......it's ok if they are all still here, i just like to dream!!! i'm prepared for lots of cleaning up after puppies....

shay,

We bought the Little Green Machine, too. But we later upgraded to the large steam cleaner. I LOVE IT! It's definitely a good tool for rescuers.

And you don't have to purchase the expensive steam cleaner soap all the time either. Sometimes we just put a vinegar/water mixture into the water part and steam clean with that. Even dachshunds can't tell where the fosters have had an accident when we do this.

Of course, every so often we do use the soap and not the vinegar.

The large versions are so much faster and easier than the little spot cleaners. Plus, you can put hot water in and then the on-board heater heats it even more.

I will warn you that if you use the vinegar solution in the steam cleaner, the house smells like vinegar for a little while....but for us it just smells like I've been cooking!
