Hi guys! Well, I need some help with potty training again. Reeses absolutely refuses to poop outside and I don't know what to do. I take her out and she will pee and will poop after we come back in. I thought it would be easier to train her since Twix is potty trained. I stay out with her for quite some time and even put Twix inside so she won't distract Reeses. I eventually get tired of being outside with her after being out for 15 minutes or so and we go in. I have tried to leave her leashed but Twix thinks that Reeses leash is for her to lead Reeses around by. (this is quite a funny site but not appreciated by Reeses and Twix isn't always nice about it) I also block her in the area where I am but as soon as I am not looking she goes. I have even caught her in the act and stopped her and taken her out but she will not finish outside. She is about 5-6 months old and I don't know what kind of environment she came from because the person who rescued her found her wandering the streets. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for you help. You guys are the best!!!

I would suggest that for now you go on walks. Put leashes on both dogs and go for a walk. That way you know what both are doing at all times. Following Twix may help Reeses get the idea. Plus, if you walk long enough....the jiggling will make Reeses HAVE to poop. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif The smells along the way from other dogs may also help her get the idea.

Does she poop in one particular place in the house? If so, that might give you some sort of idea of what is going on. Does she always hide when pooping? Keep her with you at all times.

Another consideration....one of our boys is very particular about pooping. We cannot speak to him (or each other) when he is getting ready to poop, we don't look at him, etc. If a car drives by or someone is walking where he can see them....forget it. He also likes to hide in bushes to make certain that no one sees him. He is just very private.
