For two days no accidents - I was beginning to think that Shana wasn't really a dachshund http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif. But that has changed and actually it's quite funny. Day 3 I got her into her outdoor gear, opened the door to my apartment when lo and behold Shana walked out the door and pooped just outside my apt. door. I know, I know she didn't do it in the house and she'll get it after a bit,I hope, http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/confused.gif but does anyone have any suggestions?

Lanie, your new little girl is veeeeerrrrrryyyyyy smart! She knew the storm was coming. She already understood that going in the house was a bad thing, so where then? Certainly, not in the snow!

My only suggestion would be to do what I often found to work with puppies; carry her out the door and do not put her down until you reach the "proper" place.
Gosh, I hope you get through what they are calling the worst storm for the NY area since 1969, without too many problems.
Do be careful where you put her down or we will have another funny story about a dachsie being swallowed by a snow drift!
I can see it now, Pluto To The Rescue.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/love.gif Sounds like a good idea for Sonja's next show.
Take care,

Lanie! There you are! I've been wondering how things are going.
Roxane's suggestion is a good one! Other than that, I'm thinking that she will naturally learn from Pluto. BTW, how is Pluto doing? Does he seem any different? Does he seem a little spunkier? I bet the 2 look adorable together!
