I know I shouldn't think this is funny but I can't help but grin when she does it.

I've just about resolved to the fact that Annie and just going to pee and poop in her crate every night - Regardless of how many times and how late I take her out before bedtime. I just clean it up in the mornings.

But in the past couple of days, she has learned to go potty in her crate pan and then push the pan out of the crate through the tray slit, then take her towel to the back and lay on the floor!

But then she still pees on her towel too!? Strange girl...my Annie.

I'm trying to remember, but has Annie been checked for problems by the Vet? It seems strange that she would pee where she sleeps. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/confused.gif

I love it! You can just hear her saying "Thank you--I'm finished with this now!" <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm34.gif" border=0>

When your Annie was a pup, she'd have to poop in the middle of the night and get very upset that she'd have to do it in her crate. One day we went downstairs and found a poop OUTSIDE the grated door! What an acrobat!

Mark, I have an appointment for her tomorrow. They are going to keep her all day to get a urine sample and check her out. I do think something *abnormal* is going on with her.

I just hope it's not something serious.

Annie's urinalysis came back negative for infection. I was was planning to ask him about PPA, but he brought it up first. He was reluctant to recommend it for Annie because she is just over 1 yr old. and he believes a loose sphincter (sp?) muscle problem is pretty rare in a dog of her age, but more common in older dogs.

He did however agree that her nightly urination was strange and he wants to talk it over with a *specialist* vet friend before he makes a recommendation.

Dolly's Mom: I know Maddie is on PPA and was just wondering how old she is. Also he mentioned PPA being difficult to get since they took it off the market for hoomans. Does your vet have trouble getting it?

Another thing: I let Annie sleep in the bed with me last night so I could closely and monitor her and she had a dry night. I guess there is a possibility it could still be bevavorial.

To be continued when I hear next steps from my vet.....

I'm glad to hear there is no infection! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/pink.gif

Hopefully all the physical possiblities can be eliminated, so at least, you know which direction you need to go . . . and that Annie is healthy.
