What do you guys think of feeding raw meat?? I don't think I would, I'd be too worried about E. Coli. Does anybody here feed raw meat?

We don't feed any raw meat - in fact we don't feed any meat at all - they get a bit of white turkey meat on a very special occasion but that's about it. We give raw veggies and fruit. Nutro is our food of choice and the boys really like it.

Yes, we feed BARF (biologically Appropriate Raw Food). You must first realize that a dog is not built the same way that a human is. The acid in their stomach is much stronger and their digestive tract is much shorter. E. coli and salmonella are not frequent in canines because the digestive tract is too short for the bacteria to cause problems. Yes there will be instances, but there are cases where dogs have contracted such things from kibble.
Are you wanting to switch from kibble? If so, raw meat alone is not an appropriate diet. Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions are where to start for research. research hould always be a key point, no matter what you feed.
I feel that a biologically appropraite diet is important for all creatures. Our dogs and fish are all fed this way (specific for each individual of course)..and we are trying to cut junk out of our own diets and eat healthy.

I feed raw meat as well, combined with Red Barn dog food. My dogs get raw meat every meal, mostly gizzards, livers and hamburger. they love it. They also have plenty of large raw meaty bones to gnaw on. Clean teeth, shiny coats, healthy dogs.
