Hello everyone! I'm curious to know how much and how often you all feed your dogs.

I'm having some problems getting Velvet on a regular potty break schedule. Wobbles WAS doing fine, but now that Velvet is having accidents in the house, he is also! UGH!

At this time, I feed them both 1/2 cup Pro Plan dry food with about 2 Tablespoons canned. They get fed twice a day - once at 7:00am, then again around 6:30pm. They also each get 1 treat a day, and occasionally a dinner plate to lick.

Also, I think that Wobbles might be a little overweight. He does'nt look fat, but I can't easily feel his ribs.

What do you think? I'd really appreciate your input!

Thanx!
Cindy

We feed our 3 one-half cup each at 6:00 a.m. What hasn't been eaten by 7 a.m. is picked up. They get another half cup about 4 p.m. What isn't eaten by 6 p.m. is picked up. We take up their water at 8:30 and they're in bed by 10:30. It's really cold up here right now and keeping their food/water schedule is really important in terms of housebreaking. They will also get a treat about 4:30.

I was wondering about being able to feel the ribs as well. Dante is 14 months old and weighs about 17 lbs., he was only supposed to get to 14 lbs. I could feel his ribs until about a month or so ago. I then found out my husband was feeding him extra food, "because he liked it so much". We cut down on his food, but he acts like he is starving... and waits for more when his bowl is empty.

I worry about him eating the puppy food when the new baby comes.

We had two furkids who were on adult food when we got the baby. What we did was feed him in a separate area from the other two or we tried to hand feed him. He was fed in the a.m., right after I got home from work and again about 7 p.m. Now he is on the same schedule as the other two. He never did like the puppy food - just wanted the adult food like his big brothers had so that made it hard. We fed him adult food earlier than we fed the other two because he just wouldn't eat the puppy food - but his two big brothers sure would if we turned our back for a minute.

You didn't mention 'when' she is having potty accidents. That will help a lot in helping to determine what her problem might be as to knowing when to potty. If at night, if you can I would feed her/them earlier. And if he was housetrained before but now is misbehaving, he is trying to pull on you http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
Are they standards? They are getting fed the amount for standards (total of 1 c plus 4 T, right?).
