Please send lots of healing rays to Sebastian! :(

We are headed back to the vet this afternoon. He woke up again this moring in a lot of pain, sort of hunched over in the back and walking sort of funny.

I called the vet this morning and he said that we would have to try a different treatment this time because it was to early to give him another cortizone shot but to continue with the rhimydl this morning and we would go from there. I didn't even think to ask what sort of treatment we were talking about. :afraid: Just as long as he is out of pain... that's all that matters to me... I hate to see him like this. He just keeps looking up at me with these big please help me it HURTS doxie eyes. :crying:

Here are some more rayz coming from your neighbors in Wisconsin.
:rayz: :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: :rayz:
My Ivy did wonderful with 3 weeks crate rest prednisone and pain pills. But also to help we went to a chiropractor. I saw him this morning and felt a little guilty for not making another appointment but she is doing really good.
We have our fingers & toes and & tails & paws all crossed for a speedy recovery.

First off before we ever went to the vet Sebastian was back to acting normal, but I took him anyway because I didn't want it to come back and then be in pain for the rest of the weekend.

The vet said that it is still the same spinal nerve bothering Sebastian. He prescribed more rhimadyl for the pain and lots of rest... No jumping, running, or stairs! :sarcasti: That should be fun. :(

He said that it was good news that it was just the nerve though and not the disk because that can cause paralysis... so I am thankful for that. But he also said that this is something that he could have trouble with for the rest of his life also.

Thanks again for all the :rayz: and thoughts.

:)

it is not the disc.
Now comes the hard part... trying to keep him calmed down.
Just be firm.
Its very very hard to do, but you must.
Sending more loving rayz your way for Sebastian and for mom who is going to need them, when those eyes look longing up at you begging to run and jump....     these are my version of loving rayz.

So sorry Sebastian is under the weather. Thankfully it is not the disk. I know how hard it is to keep them still when they are feeling even a little better. Sending hugsfor you and get well wishes for your little love.

Good to hear that it isn't a disk. Taht must have been a huge sigh of relief for you. More :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: for Sebastian and for mom to be firm in the healing process.

I'm glad to know that it isn't a disk problem, but if the nerve problem is intermittent, then that isn't so bad. I think that in humans, that would be like the sciatic nerve acting up. It is intermittent, if you rest properly.
