Sorry it has taken so long to upadate but our internet service has been out until this morning.
Good news, Lynn (our vet) feels that Daisy has just pulled a muscle in her back. She had no neurological symptoms on exam.
Lynn gave her a IV injection of Robaxin (muscle relaxatant) and a shot of Dexamethasone (steriod) yesterday morning. She also started her on Deramaxx (NSAID) for 14 days, Robaxin by mouth for 2-3 days and crate rest for at least a week. She goes back in a week for a check-up.
Daisy was already feeling better enough to want out of the crate last night! Don't worry she won't get her way.
She had a bulging disc 3 years ago to the day requiring 6 weeks of crate rest and I counted it down to the hour. I am OCD when it comes to instructions from the vet. When she hurt her back that time it took almost a week becfore she started feeling better.
I really appreciate all of the support I have received on the DBB. Having people that understand and support you is so important. All I can say is that the DBB is the best, I feel so lucky that I found such a wonderful supportive group of doxie lovers.
Thank you again for you support and prayers.

Thank you for the update. I think it was just about a year ago that Tanner was going through his muscular back issues. He went through muscle relaxants, rimadyl, and accupuncture. It was after the second accupuncture treatment that he seemed to bounce back to his old self. I can't say for sure they were what did the trick but I do know they relaxed him a great deal and after the first he got his only really good sound sleep for a while.

Good luck and keep us posted. Sending rays that it will be a speedy recovery.

Oh and yes thank you for getting to the vet ASAP. One thing that I learned with my Aggie don't delay in getting to then vet or getting back if changes happen. I've had Tanner in a couple of times when it really wasn't anything much but my vets don't complain they tell me they would rather see people bring them in when it turns out to be something minor or even nothing at all. They say it's much nicer to be able to tell someone it's nothing to worry about than to have to say there's little they can do because of the advanced state of a problem.

That is great news. Deramaxx is truly amazing, just be sure to get her to the vet if she stops eating as it can damage the kidneys just like other NSAID's.
