What is BARF?

Bones and Raw Food.

You feed them bones -raw with raw meat and raw veggies too. Some also add yogurt, cottage cheese, or eggs. Some people feed grains others do not.

Benefits -you know what is in your pups food and that it is healthy. The bones help keep their teeth cleaner and the chewing action strenghtens their neck and jaws. There are more. Owen is on it and I'm sure after the weekend Amy will post with more info.

Try doing a search for "bones and Raw food" -I know there are some great websites out there on the subject. Rudy mainly eats a premium all natural high quality kibble, but I supplement it with raw bones and veggies too.

Just a word of caution: When feeding dachsies yummy bones, watch out for your toes; they might be involved in "bone games" you didn't even know you were playing!

Here's a great link for the Whole Dog Journal http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/Findings/findings.htm on feeding raw meat. I feed it because that's what dogs are ment to eat.
