Hi, one of the topics that was deleted was my question about feeding lite food for my Hansie who is watching his figure, and the fact that all the dogs are throwing up yellow mucus now.

There were two replies, and thanks so much for the advice. I have purchased pedigree and will mix that in and hopefully the vomiting will stop.

Does anyone have any other suggetions?

What do you think about Pedigree food?

Conseqently, the next thread has some good information also about feeding.

While I haven't used it I would be tempted to try AVO-Lite if I was looking for a low kcal food. I have been very happy with the other AVO products I've feed. The only problem with the AVO products is that it can sometimes be a challenge to find a local distributor since they do not sell through the chain stores. You can find more information on their products at http://www.avoderm.com/

Well I was one of the people that replied to the first one, and I'm glad you got to see it before deletion.

As far as pedigree goes, it would not be the food of my choice.

My rules of thumb for picking a good quality food are as follows:
No byproducts
No Digest (also called natural poultry or chicken flavoring)
No BHT, BHA, Or ethoxyquin(EQ) -chemical preservatives -carcinogens
No -or LOW on the ingredient list- corn/corn products

Some examples are:
Pinnacle
Flint River Ranch
Canidae
Innova
California Natural
Neura Wellness
Eagle Pack
Wysong Synorgen
Sensible Choice
Avo-Derm

There are more out there -you just have to read the lables and compare.

if your guys are not corn sensitive, Petsmart Premiere might be a good choice that is easy to get, some of the normal Nutro natural choice might work too, and some other moderately priced foods do have formulas without byproducts and chemical preservatives such as some Diamond formulas, or even some nature's recipe formulas.

Thanks Krista, that was exactly what I was looking for. Now I can go out and find a good one.

I really appreciate it! And I am sure Hans, Bean, and Pipin's little tummy will also!

I'm not sure if you got to read my reply, but basically I feed the lite to Oscar and he thru up everyday, even when I had it in a 50/50 mix with something else. Do your guys throw up only in the am? If so you could try giving some bed time snacks to help fill the tummies.
