How much to feed, trouble with feeding

Well I am a new doxie owner and was wondering about food. Right now he seems to be having trouble eating kibble so I have been mixing it in with canned food and warm water to moisten it. He is 7 weeks old and seems to eat the soft food just fine. Also he only weighs 3 pounds and I really dont know how much to feed him, so far I feed him weigh to much, he doesnt eat it all just enough until he is full I guess. Also how many times a day should I be feeding him. Lots of questions about this little guy!

What does the breeder recommend?
(also, you might have seen this elsewhere on the board but ideally pups should be with their mom and littermates until they are a minimum of 8 weeks old.)

Even now that my boys are grown up, their breeder is always willing to try and answer questions I might have.


Have you asked your vet, how often?

At this age, I don't think I'd worry so much about overfeeding. I think I would just put a dish down for 10 minutes 4 times a day and let them eat what they want during the feedings and pick the dish back up.
I believe pups that young should be fed 4 times a day.
