Hi Guys, your field reporter checking in. :circle:
We are in IN for the National Miniature Dachshund Roundup which was held at Columbus, IN. We had sme adventures getting here though. First, we had to get up at 3am ( which gave me 1hr 50 min of sleep) after I finished packing. When we got up and were about to leave for Seattle we discovered that our "dear" friends left the sliding door of the van wide open and the van does not start at all. So, I tried calling Dollar roadside assistance which says 24 hrs but after being on hold for 30 min wthout anyone picking up, we called a tow truck that was local. Now, just picture this. We were in Vancouver and it is 160miles from Seattle. Our flight leaving at 8am and we are stranded in Vancouver without a way of getting there.
Now, something that we found out is that in Canada you do not pay for the tow truck to come out unless they get your car started!!! The guy spent 30 min trying all tricks bu the van was just dead. So, we tried callin Dollar customer service for an advice on what we should do but their office is closed at 4am. We called the Seatac airport Dollar counter and the guy was super rude to us. Hey, it is us who is stranded with their van in Canada getting very late for our flight!!! So, we took a taxi from Vancouver to Seattle and left the van parked in Vancouver. Got to the border and the US passport control was demanding a passport from the taxi driver. He is like, "I do not have it. I am just a taxi driver". At least the guy was cool enough to let him through. We were speeding like crazy the whole way and barely made it to the airport on time.
I learned two lessons here Never use Dollar again ( if you read my post from the beginning you see we had problems with them at the beginning of our trip) ince they do not even want to reimburse us for the $350 taxi ride. And I am not letting hubby make our traveling arrangements again. It took us 2.5 hours to drive 40 miles in Chicago. 6 hrs to Indianapolis and that was his idea.
And after this crazy traveling I forgot my camera at the hotel ( another 40 min drive from the show site). I was kicking myself the whole day while watching almost 300 dachsies. Can you believe I forgot it!! Can't frgive myself. I will bring it today wth me but toda is all breed show. Not the same.
I met Beckie! She just had a litter the night before so I bet we will get more pup pics very soon. Puppy fix for anyone? :circle:
