I know we have done this in the past, but it's been a while.
So do you measure your dachsies food or free-feed?
How much do you feed and how often if you measure?
How much do your dachsies weigh?
And what do you feed them?
Do they get any supplements?
What do you use for treats?
My boys get fed about 3/4 -1 cup food per day, divided into 2 meals. Rudy eats as much as Roscoe though he weighs right under 11 pounds compared to Roscoe's 15 pounds or so.
I like to switch kibbles about every 6 months or so. Some that we have fed are Flint River Ranch, Sensible choice, Petsmart Premiere (when on a tight budget)..etc. I'd like to try Healthwise next(made by Natura) and if I was on a tighter budget again, I'd use Premium Edge.
My boys each get some cold pressed flax seed oil, or some fish body oil daily to give them Omega-3 fatty acids. Every other day they get a tablespoon or so of plain yogurt with live cultures to aid in digestion.
For treats a bit of raw veggie or fruit mostly, though every now and again I'll buy them a Nylabone Edible Peanut bone. I have also used some all natural treats made by Old Mother Hubbard upon occasion.

okie dokie....Here's chiefy's menu:
He is fed twice a day..he is currently on a switchover to Steve's real food for dogs..but in the interim..he gets wellness super 5 mix, and wysong canned with some steve's thrown in. He also gets Nupro supplement and ester c vitamin. In the evening before bedtime he gets homemade cookies made from Aunt Mandy (here on this board!!) Chiefy keeps saying thank you AUnt Mandy..I love my cookies. Chiefy weighs about 13 lbs. and gets about 2/3 total food weight although we don't measure. He will eventually be on all Steve's real food for dogs with supplements from Marina Zacharias at www.naturalrearing.com (http://www.naturalrearing.com) for his back. He does get his variety doesn't he??? http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif

We feed BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food). So, they get a variety of RMBs and veggies. They also get a whole raw egg twice a week and plain yogurt for the natural probiotics. They think they are in heaven! Although I have to sneak the organ meat in with their veggies. They like it dehydrated, but I just couldn't take the smell after the first batch.
For treats they get homemade cookies (no preservatives, added chemicals, or added dyes) which they love to "help" make. We also use veggies for treats, too. Oh, we also make what we call "nana-pups" using plain yogurt and assorted goodies - mashed banana or borth, etc. which are frozen in ice cube trays. They love these after romping outside in the Summer.
They roughly receive about 1/3 pound of food once a day (approximately 2% body weight). Jake is about 13.5-14 pounds and Henry is 15.5-16 pounds. Jake is also more active then Henry.

Oscar(15.5 lb)is getting a mix of Wellness supermix5 and RX IVD hifactor with some all bran cereal sprinkled on top (he has anal gland problems), Hoovie (11.5) is just getting wellness.
They both get 1/3 cup 2 times a day with the Wellness supplement. Just like Krista's boys they get the same amount of food but have a 5 lb difference between them.
I plan to purchase some prozyme and add that in too.
I also switch foods (seems like often, but still looking for the perfect food). I want try Pinnacle next. I do like Wellness but want to try somthing with out barley.
we feed some raw foods, as we are just getting started with it. mine will eat anthing given the chance, even kitty poo (ICK). We feed dry and some cans, we have been trying to find a brand that agees with everyones tummy. Supplement with fruits, veggies and a few other unusual treats, healthy of course, and they love it all, seems like if it comes from us then it must be ok. Shay

I feed Owen a raw diet, currently Steve's Real Food, and I alternate between the Chicken and the beef. I'm considering going back to do it yourself BARF Feeding though, just because it's fun to make the stuff and much cheaper than the Steve's http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
