Drs Foster and Smith has a great site with lots of products to help your dog lose weight.
Here's the link http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/sc_view.cfm?pCatId=1325

Good Luck!

My Mitzi is on a diet and this is what our vet suggested:
cut dry food to 1/2 of what she was getting.
and walk her at least 15 - 30 mins. per day.

So now Mitz is getting 1/2 cup of dry food a day plus a small dog biscuit (to get her to kennel up) and once every few days a special treat of air popped popcorn or a small baby carrot.

Mitzi only needed to loose 2 lbs and it seems like it's taking forever. She's lost one already but she keeps sneaking food on the side (1/2 bowl of chili, 1/4 bowl of cheese dip, and 11 Peeps just to mention a few) but we're still working on it.

Our dachshunds are on a low fat diet the vet suggested for them. This is supposed to help with their slowing metabolism. It has made each of them lose a pound the last time I took them to the vet so it does work , you all should visit the vet you would be surprised what you will find there when it comes to low fat diets...plus it allows you to give in on a few treats now and then
