Actually I think they have to have some experience with computer problems and be willing to be responsible to check the messages. Either way I don't qualify so nobody is knocking on the inside of my cyber space world. What ever hey! Those that are doing it seem to be very knowledgable in a lot of different areas. I can't imagine how any of you have time to do this on a regular basis. I am just very Thankfull that you computer Guru's are willing to keep this board alive and running so smoothly.
I am indebted to you all!
 :bowing:\
I wouldn't know where to beging with the differnt topics and how to find them or post things that we non-guro status flunkys don't know how to do or are to busy to do. :idunno: :dunno:
I just don't know how they do it all and I pray they keep up the Great Job of having the DBB running so smoothly~!
THANKS COMPUTER GURU'z!!!
 :verycool: :iloveyou:

Actually, you are invited to become a moderator by Mark and/or Jean. They do not have time to check everything, so we help. I am happy to say that I have not been invited to be one because of my computer savviness! Chrissie and Bob definitely have that! We try to make sure that people's posts don't go unnoticed, and that no one's opinions go ballistic, and some do have expertise in helping post pictures, and in certain areas of dachsiedom. What I do have is 52 years of being raised by or owned by, dachshunds, and some knowledge of taking people through a few of the basics of posting pictures. We also help keep things on a diplomatic keel. Is that what you wanted to know? Julia B.

Julie,
You'll see your title change as your number of posts increases. You graduated from junior member to member when you hit 30 posts. Us mods don't get new titles- we're just mods forever. :)
When things change on the board- when a new forum is added or a moderator needs to step down for whatever reason, Mark and Jean need to find someone to help fill the need- and a new moderator is born.
Bob and I were given the "Super Moderator" title instead of "Totally Nerdy Dorky Geeky Moderator". At first I thought it was because Mark and Jean wanted to be nice (Totally Nerdy Dorky Geeky Moderator could seriously hinder our ability to get dates- don't you think?;))- but now I know that "Super Mod" contributes to plenty of teasing and humiliation, too.:D
Just like Julia explained- the moderating team is here to make sure that posts don't get nasty, that everyone with a question gets as much help as the board can offer, to assist people with technical issues, and just to help make sure the board runs smoothly. The DBB is a very well respected source of information and advice- and we intend to keep it that way.
Of course, a moderator's job is just sooo much easier when the members are as fantastic as ours! The DBB is the best!
