View Full Version : BilJac
Anyone heard of or tried the dog/cat food brand BilJac? The breeder we are getting our puppy from highly recommends it. She's used it for years and has been very pleased with it. I was surprised to find that it's readily available at PetsMart and Petco stores near us. Any thoughts?
Their web site is: http://www.biljac.com/index.shtm
By the way, it's looking like we may be picking-up our puppy May 14th if all goes well! Just sent our deposit. Can't wait!!! Wish us luck!

Well....
I'm not a fan of ANY food with BHA used as a preservative (tests have proven it to be cancer causing) or food with corn. Biljac has both.
Here's a GREAT site to learn about doggie food and has suggestions of foods w/out corn, bha/bht, byproducts etc.

If I were to feed a dog kibble (I feed a raw, natural diet) I would personally feed something along the lines of Innova, Canidae, Solid Gold or Pinnacle. If you need something you can pick up from Petco, then I'd suggest the Avo-Derm line. http://www.breeders-choice.com/

My breeder recommended Bil Jac Puppy Food as well. Chloe has been on it since we got her in July. Is Bil Jac really that bad? We are getting a 16 month old rescue on Friday and we are trying to decide what to do about food for them as he is not a puppy.

Well, about Biljac, like I said... I personally would not feed it. I will never feed anything with BHA or BHT in it. Please visit the first site I listed below. There is a TON of information about doggie food there, things you've never thought of when it comes to food, recommendations for foods, it outlines Raw Feeding. It's a great site. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif
