Avatar hints, please

I sized my Avatar to 60 by 60 pixels, RGB, jpg. Why is it still telling me it's too large?

I'm using a Mac with OSX, if that has anything to do with it??

Your avatar needs to be under 10KB in size- JPEG's can run HUGE! I suspect that yours is a little larger than allowed. You can compress it with a little degradation and keep it a JPEG- or simply save it as a GIF- which is probably the better choice. A single non animated GIF at 60x60 will fit fine.
