Since I have an inhome daycare I have alot of toys. Today Buddy found a new toy. An older type dunebuggy. The kind with plastic pull rope (my husband cut it short because he's afraid of choking). Well Buddy found that toy and has been pulling it around all morning. It's so funny to watch. He is turning into a real hooman baby.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/angel.gif

You brought back some memories with that one. The first dachshund we had when I was little Missy loved to play with the two old fisher price pull toys we had. If my memory is correct one was a wooden row boat and the oars would stroke as the toy was pulled. Another one of the girl we had while I was growing up loved the toys that were suppose to be push toys with a long wooden handle. One of the long handle toys was a clear plastic football shape ball with small balls inside it and little ridges inside so the small balls would pop around inside as the toy was pushed/pulled. The second toy was a musical toy that would make chime like sounds as it was played with. I believe it was Joe that that liked those toys. She would use her paws to spin the toys if you held the handle or she would go running all over the house pulling the toys by their long handle making as much noise as possible.

Wow! Those are some smart dogs y'all have there! The only toys Farfie and Peaches acknowledge are (1) food and (b) squeaky stuffed things. If you were to put a pull-toy in front of them, they would sniff it all over to see whether it contained any food, check to see whether it squeaked, then walk away, disappointed on both counts.

I never said my dogs were the highest cards in the deck, but they know what they like!! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif

The only human toy either of my boys played with was a pound puppy! I my first one at a garage sale for $.50. I brought it home and Buddy just LOVED it! It was the big pound puppy, and it was longer than Buddy, but he dragged that thing around everywhere! He chewed at it, shake it in his mouth..oh he just had a ball. We recently got one for Mickey too. He's not as fond of it as Buddy was, but he still plays with it every now and again.
