What Charley didn't do Frances was able to... My Mom in Winter Springs, Fl lost the roof on her home this morning to Frances :( . Double wides can't put up much of a fight against those high winds. The Fire Dept has already condemned it. Those FD guys are great... they already put a big tarp over it. She was at my Brother's place at the time.. but her cat was home and is totally freaked out. She ripped open my Mom's hand when she tried to get her this morning :(

Send lots of Rayz and prayers to everyone in Frances' path !

Well, she's still throwing wind and a little rain our way- but as you can tell by the fact that I'm still online... we didn't even lose power! We're one of few, according to the news.

I swear- my crappy luck of late can't compete with whatever good luck this house has with weather- our neighbors' fences ONCE AGAIN are all over neighborhoold. While ours stands strong! There's a busted window across the way, and a one neighbor lost a shingle so far. The wind is still too strong to stand around out there and do a proper survey- but so far, so good.

Mobile and manufactured homes just don't stand a chance with these kind of winds. I'm shocked they're so popular here! I'm SO sorry about your mom's house- she's definitely not alone. My parents were on a 6 month waiting list for a new roof after Charley- NOW they're in REAL trouble.

My stomach hurts when I think about all the clean up the community JUST DID- and all that's going to be waiting for us again tomorrow. How much more can this state TAKE?

Now, Ivan and his buddy had BETTER stay AWAY! We've had our share... sheesh. :)

Roofing rayz for your mom: :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: :rayz:

Sorry that your mom lost her roof and the cat freaked out! At least both are safe. Thank goodness it wasn't any stronger! Rays are on their way!

Sorry to hear about your mom's roof. I hope she can get it fixed pretty soon.

Chrissie, you do realize that you'll be able to sell your house much quicker and get what you want because other people's homes will be destroyed and they will need a place to live. :) They will think of your home as being hurricane-proof. :)

Yes, after test of two hurricanes, you can add this to your house flyer that it hurricane prooved!

Sorry about your mom's roof. We just have a few trees down so far. Our friends have a few leaks here and there.

Florida bound rays. Glad to hear overall our members and their families are doing pretty well. A roof or the whole double wide for that matter can be replaced not fun and very frustrating but at least no injuries other than what the cat did. Sending rays that the luck holds out.
