LOL! Hubby decided we needed some, because one of us will be talking after the other disappears around a corner or two, and then you miss the subject! We found some Unidens at Wal-Mart with a 3 mile range. Inside, outside, around a corner or three - they work great! I was outside with the girls this morning, when Rick called - and you should have seen the look on Siglen and Brekke's faces! They could not figure out where their daddy was! Dachsie confusion - gotta love it! :D Julia B.

I LOVE those things! Obviously we use them for work all the time (event managers need to be in touch with everybody 100% of the time - control junkies that they are!)...but we also got them for Chris' folks who take their RV on the road every summer for 4 months. That way, one of them can be out walking in the park and the other can always reach them for milk, bread, the phone or in the event of an emergency.

You will be amazed at how many uses you will have for those little babies!! One hint tho - don't try and take them to a big family amusement park - everybody has the same idea and unfortunately there are only so many frequencies those things run on!

I talked to my mother last night when we put the batteries in, and she said the service techs who serviced their ac/heat pump/dehumidifier, used a pair - one guy was outside and one inside - I hadn't thought about that before - saves the voice! Julia B.

I always get a kick out of the people who bring them to SuperWalmart and SuperTarget! That's a darn good idea! Men can totally disappear in those stores. ;)

We use them for our kids. When they go out riding their bikes or to a friends house down the street it's easy to get hold of them. That way they don't need to ride all the way back home to ask something or borrow a friends phone.

One of the best uses I saw for them was at a trade show. A husband and wife who owned a dive shop were separated from each other on the DEMA show floor and they would call each other to check on apointments and what they should order! I wonder if they made them small enough whether you could attach one to the collar of a dog and keep tabs on him/her during excursions outside....hmmm. Agent Bouncer???

I thought it was odd, when hubby makes darn sure we both have our cell phones on, before we go into Super Walmart.. but he and I go our seperate ways once inside and have been known to loose each other for over an hour. He was fuming LOL
SO now we cannot go in there without them.
We have walkie talkies we use when we go camping. There great.

I love that, Tom! We have an intercom in our house and I turn on the speaker by the back door when I'm home so I can make the dogs stop barking. They still aren't sure what's going on when mom's voice comes from the door, but she's not there!

We use cell phones in the stores/malls but bring our walkie talkies on trips. The best use we had for them was went we went to ST. Loius. We were able to travel in separate vehicles and manage to not loose each other. then at Six flags, we could separate and go on different rides w/o too much fuss.
