We were out shopping one day and saw this really great cat bed.....it had holes so that the cat could go inside and it could also be jumped on from the top and would collapse down to be a regular type bed.....we thought how fun that would be for a dachshund, but it just wasn't big enough for more than one dachshund...so I designed a larger version of it and made the "Snuggle Oven" for Henry and Jakey!
They love it...it is roughly 3 feet long, 1 1/2 feet wide and 1-1 1/2 feet tall. I cut up some egg crate foam to make the walls and covered the foam inside and out with fleece. Whenever one (or both) of the boys is indside, it really heats up and is very snuggly. The front has a hole in it just large enough for them to easily go in and out.
I will have to get pictures up for you to see...Jakey loves to peek out of it....and another special photo...Bart really wanted to see what it was like inside for the boys..and so he wiggled his head in the snuggle oven with them...... And he got his head stuck.....so of course I HAD to take pictures...i just couldn't resist.....he was on his back scooting across the floor with this big block on his head...and Jake, who was inside the snuggle oven at the time, thought it would be a perfect time to lick his daddy's entire face!
I was laughing so hard, especially when Henry jumped on Bart's chest and started licking him from the outside . I almost couldn't answer the phone when it rang...and I had to ask Bart if he could get his head unstuck long enough to talk with his brother....who then asked Bart how and why he got his head stuck.....
Henry, Jakey and I proceeded to roll on the floor laughing at poor Bart..... Husbands and dachshunds...together there is never a dry moment!
