New Dog Titles for OUR Dogs

Those of you involved in obedience trials know that dogs can acquire titles after their name: CD (Companion Dog), CDX (Companion Dog Excellent), UD (Utility Dog), TD (Tracking Dog), etc.

Not to take anything away from the dogs with the above titles, but we should understand that regular dogs work just as hard to learn things, & should be able to have some titles after THEIR names. The following have been suggested:

AD = Attention Deficit
ARB = Ace Refrigerator Bandit
BWX = Butt Wagger Excellent
CC = Cat Courser
CP = Couch Potato
CPX = Couch Potato Excellent
CSX = Counter Surfer Extrordinaire
GFIY = Go Fetch It Yourself
HHP = Household Pet
IDDI = I Didn't Do It
ILF = I Like Food
ILLF = I Like Lots of Food
LD = Lap Dog
LDX = Lap Dog Excellent
TBF = Thick But Friendly
TGS = Terribly Good Snorer
TCIM = That Couch Is Mine
UCD = Under the Covers Dog
WM = Who, Me?

Pretty clever Penny's Aunt! I agree that our dogs daily have to wring their little brains to get the most out of their moms and dads.

Farfel is known in the snootier dachshund circles as Dachshunds of Pinewoods' Struttin' with Some Barbecue, CPX, ILLF, PMPMN (Pet me! Pet me NOW!) Peaches is Creekside's Taffy Pull, AD, WM, SHX (selective hearing excellent).

They're both working hard to achieve their newest title, the coveted WMSBCTTTOT (Waddya mean, stop barking--cantcha tell there's trouble out there?????)!

How about Oscar DDD (Doh-dee-doh) This is what goes on in his head most of the time. Variations are doh-dee-doh? and doh-dee-DOH! depending on the situation. There's also GTHOOMPOIKYA (Get the heck out of my park or I'll kick your ***) and IWTBC (I want to bite children) but that's another story.

Frankie... well Frankie would be BWX, IDDI, ILLF and TGS. Maybe ABX (annoying barker excellent)too.

Penny goes back to the vet on Friday (still checking out those seizures) and with your permission we just may have to print out your post and tack it up alongside the photos of poodles in Santa Claus hats and big black labs wearing red bandanas. It would be nice to give the good folks something more pleasant to think about than the big check they're going to have to write on their way out the door!
