The barking post made me realize...my little man has been gone just over a year now. I still miss him and wanted to share what a wonderful dog he was. These are three of my favorite pix. of him. Even though it does not look like it, he was fullblood Pom!

I got him because when I got his mother, I had no clue Poms often had dry heats (I read several books and talked with lots of breeders...no one mentioned this). I was waiting for her to go into heat so I could get her fixed (she was 11 months). Well, I took in a rescue male that was unaltered....and a few hours later learned why they got along so famously. 2 months later we had 3 male puppies. I had a friend that took two of them and I kept Whitie.

Whitie was born in my bedroom on Dec. 27, 1988, was forever smiling (and barking) by my side and will always be in my heart!

Whitie and his mom, Pumpkin who was also dearly loved. She has been gone 3 years now.

This is one of my all time favorite pix. Sophie and Lili really loved him and took good care of him in his final years.

Your Whitie was very beautiful! We love all furbabies ...doxie and non. It is hard to loose any family member be it human or not. :hugs1: for your loss.

It's so hard to lose anyone we love- and Whitie and Pumpkin were both adorable! The final picture- "Whitie and the Princess"- is just too sweet for words. :hugs1:

They were gorgeous pups and I know they are playing with all the dachsies at the bridge!

And any dog who lives with a dachsie or is in the family of a dachsie, certainly counts with us. My girls had an Aunt Mandy - my parents' poodle, and my Fritz had an uncle - Sammy the Poodle, so we know the value of canine companionship! :hugs1: Julia B.

He's beautiful! We'll let him be an "honorary dachshund".

It is always so painful when one of us looses a furkid. Our sincere sympathies and understanding. He is beautiful.

It doesn't matter that he wasn't a dachsie. He's still over the Rainbow Bridge playing with all our lost pups and having fun.

I can see why he was a specila boy to you. Thanks for sharing the wonderful picture. I call my non-doxie friends "doxie want-to-be"

they look like such happy pups. I am sorry about your loss... I lost my little boy dachsie last year & he was my best friend.

Tributes to non-dachshunds are always welcome on the DBB. Thanks for sharing your pictures and your love for Whitie with us.
