When I was fostering I placed 3 dogs for a family that had to give up the animals due to terminal illness - well, today the guy shows up at the place where I work with 5 four week old kittens - Somebody dumped the mother cat off in his uyard, she had kittens and now has abandoned them. The Humand Society wouldn't take them because they were too young. I can't take them home because I am very allergic. A friend is going to come by and take them home with her and feed them but we are still looking for someone to take them to at least foster until they can eat and drink on their own. They are absolutely adorable and I just can't stnad to see such sweet things be abandoned.

Please send me those adoption rays...and if you know of anybody in the Atlanta area that wants a cute kitten - PM me!! Let's find these babies a home!

Thanks for the rays and for listening!!!

Uggh, I so feel you! My maintenance people brought me 8 kittens that they found when they were cleaning up after Ivan. About 10 days old, been bottle feeding since then. We have lost 4 of them so far. I hope that the very best comes for yout babies!

Wish you were here I would take them in a minute. I wonder if the mother wasn't frightened off temporarily and the fellow thought they were abandoned. You might check with your vet or the vet techs they might know of someone that can help you. Good luck and sending adoption :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: for these kittens.

Thanks for the rayz everybody - keep them coming. Patt that is so sweet - I wish we did live closer...we could just form a DBB city - we would elimanate a lot of problems, espeically those cause by distance!

Martha

PS - when I finally got home last night Butchie Boo gave me a stern lecture about coming home smelling like a CAT! Sadie ignored the smell - just so long as I don't bring them home

Sending rays that you can find homes for the kittens. :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: :rayz:

Also, good thing you got them before they became feral. We have a group here in Arizona that work with feral cat communities. They catch the cats, neuter and spay them, then put them back into the feral communities. They used to catch them, then try to adopt them out, but two things happened, the feral cats wouldn't respond to human touch, and the second thing was really odd. The people found out that no matter how many cats they took out of the community, it was replaced by more cats, but if they put the feral cats that had been spayed and neutered back, then the community would not grow. Interesting.

The kitten s turned out to be younger than we thought but they are doing great in their Auntie Marlene's care. They will sleep through the night and are just so cute and fluffy. A couple of them are trying to lap from the bowl so we hope to get them to at least lap soon and get off the bottle. Once we can get them to eating on their own we hope we can find a rescue group. We are still looking but have been told by all that we have been able to talk or email to that they are full of kittens right now. We'vw got lots of people looking for them homes so keep sending rays that we can find the right place or places for them. Can you imagine how great the bond woul;d be with these little guys???

Sending mega foster/adoption rayz :rayz: :rayz: :rayz: for your kitties. I'm a real cat lover and I think it is so nice of you to help these babies. I made the mistake of bottle feeding too long, hopefully they will learn quickly to eat from a bowl. Good Luck!

I hate to report that one of the kitties scampered over to the bridge last night. It was the smallest and seemed to be the weakest. The other four are still hanging in there. I feel so helpless because I can hold and cuddle them (I'm soooo allergic even with medication) but my friend is and her son are doing lots off cuddling and playing as well as feeding. Keep the rays coming! We sure need them.

Thanks Patt. Unfortunately three more have followed their sibling over to the Bridge so there is only one left. She is on antibiotic and a heating pad per the vets instuctions. We are all really pulling for her. She will see the vet again tomorrow morning

As for the other 4 we did the best we could and they were loved, fed and clean probably for the first time in the lives.

Thank you so much for the support and rays

Well, unfortunately the last kitty went to the Bridge this morning. It is so sad but we did at least try to save them and we did make sure that they were comfortable as possible. I know that we can't save the world but we have to keep trying

Poor kitties. I am so sad they are gone, but it really warms my heart to think how much they were loved in their short lives.
