Sofie's first show

This weekend Gainesville Dog Fancier Club had their annual dog show. Last year entries for dachsies weren't big and I decided that it would be a great show for Sofie to practice for her real debute. I entered her and yesterday was her first time ever showing in the ring. She did great. When she went in the ring, at first she was unsure but by the end, she looked as she has been showing for months!

And guess what?? At her first show she won Winners Bitch and her first point towards her championship! I was so proud of her. And that was also my first win as an owner handler! When we were getting our picture taken with the judge, she told me to watch Sofie well, or she may try to steal her! The judge was really nice and had a daple mini dachsie herself but had to put her down last April at the age of 16 due to illness.

Unfortunately the photo won't arrive till weeks later. But as soon as I get it, I will scan and post it!

Sunday we didn't win, but Sofie did her job well. I think she is at the start of a great show career.

Wow what a great start for her very first show. You must have been so proud of her. But give yourself a pat on the back too.
