Isn't it great how dachshunds have a way with welcoming visitors to your house? Our Gaudi showed off his best manners today when a few friends of ours stopped by to our garden. Somewhere in the blackberries he found a weeks long dead rodent and he came jauntily up to these ladies and stopped right at their feet and started chewing on the mummified body. "Que asco" as my husband would say to his students (disgusting). Ah, furkids do the darnest things!

Awwww, how so very kind of Gaudi! I can just imagine the looks on their faces when he did that. Thanks for the morning smile!
BTW, the pictures remind me of Isobel. She's a tweenie lh and the head in the soup can is really familir! She tends to recycle muchies out of the trashcan when I'm silly enough to forget to put it up. I must say that she hasn't found anything dead to munch, she only rolls in it to make herself smell "purty".

Oh, boy! What a greeting. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/eek.gif
Could it have been Gaudi didn't like them? I firmly believe sometimes our pets are smarter about those things than we are. On the other hand, Gaudi might have liked them so much he was offering to share?
Either way do not be surprised if they don't stop by for a while. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/facelick.gif Wotan of the Manashtash wants to know if Peninsula rats are as tasty as woodrats from central Wash. He hasn't eaten any that have been "cured" as nicely as Gaudi's.
He sure likes those pictures of you guys. Nice hang out. I don't know what Wotan would do if he saw a body of water bigger than the creek!

Like your Isobel, our Gaudi is also a roller (but hardly holy). Our Gaudi usually rolls in something first then tries to eat it.
I think Gaudi's present to the ladies was his idea of a "nice offering" Roxanne. After all, he was willing to share it with them! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/huh.gif
Our Wotan too hates water Wotansmutti.
Perhaps all Wotan's are that way? I have read the Norse God feared nothing http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/grrr.gifbut....ponds.
