Hi!
While I was in Florida, we went into one of those Rainforests Cafe's. In their gift area I found a Ty Stuffed Dachshund. He's red and I think it was only $12 dollars...better get yours fast!

I have been watching for him in stores! Now that I know the price is so reasonable I'll double my efforts.
Our local humane society has a monthly "Beanie Baby & Friends" raffle and they have that same adorable dachsie in their collection of prizes. (That's where I first saw him.) We've bought quite a few raffle tickets but no luck yet......

Is it the one named weenie? I have Weenie but if it's a new one, well I want that one too!

It sure sounds like Weenie. If so I have two, Christmas gifts from two people at work when I was first looking to adopt in 1997.

I have Weenie too. My closest friend gave it to me for Christmas 2 years ago. I thought they were going to stop making Beanies?

Yes, his name is Weenie. Did he come out that long ago? I thought it was fairly new.
I'm kicking myself now, because I should have bought a bunch of them!

There's a new Beanie Buddy Weenie out. He's like the Beanie Baby Weenie but is bigger. I just bought a Steiff Beppo of e-bay. He's so cute, looks like my Whopper.

$12???? My husband and I saw Weenie the beanie baby, but he was $25. I never understood the beanie baby craze and I wasn't going to pay that much for one, but at $12 we might just get Weenie (who could resist a dachshund face, even if it is a toy).

Guys,
I'm confused...nothing new!! I have Weenie in front of me and he is not small! He is probably about...wait...I am measuring...10 inches long and I don't feel any beans in him???
He is red and long...wait, I take that back..he has beans in his very short legs! ( I am checking him out as I write!)
It does sat that " Weenie, is the first beanie to stand on all paws...what the %*&^%*%* does that mean. Ok, I'm off to bed.. I need Frito smells,...it's late/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Here's the scoop, from a somewhat-recovering Beanie addict:
There are two different "Weenie"s. The original 'normal' sized one is about 6 inches long, and is a retired Beanie Baby. (For Beanie neophytes, that means they're no longer making them.) The fact he's retired has increased this Beanie's price to around $20-25 or so.
The 'new' Weenie is actually a Beanie Buddy which means he's bigger & softer, more like a stuffed animal you'd want to cuddle with. /ubb/smilies/smile.gif Because he's still "current" (in production), and isn't terribly difficult to find, you should be able to find one at retail price for under $12. I found a few last week, but got the Dragon one instead. I hinted (pointedly) to my hubby that I'd really like a Weenie for my birthday, though.
--Jada, with too many Beanies to count! /ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

WARNING!
Keep all stuffed toys-including weenie beenies away from those ever hungry, squeaky killing jaws of the real weenies!
I can see it now:
Moms weenie beenie is kidnapped (er-beenienapped) and the one that looks the most innocent (your dachsie child) is the perp. Just check for small beenie-things scattered in couch corners.... /ubb/smilies/blah.gif
