Not exactly, but in a darkened room our cats will try to capture the beam from a flashlight. They love it! I'll have to try this with Greta and Baylea.

Our dachsies try to scratch up the sunlight as if to crinkle up a blankie to snuggle in. They get somewhat annoyed that they can't lift it.

The other day in the kitchen, when a sun beam created an 8 inch warm spot- Wotan tried to curl himself into it. He was just working on his tail fitting in when I disturbed him and let him outside to sit in the "real sunshine"...
That's wierd about trying to eat a beam...

Bailey & Ginger do the same as Georgette's puppers. They scatch at teh sun spot, the same way they would "fluff" their Blanket or pillow.
They will also do whatever it takes to get those long bodies into the smallest patch of sunhttp://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/nuts.gif

funny you should ask....
Just last week we noticed that Roscoe chased the beam bouncing off hubbys watch as he sat near a window. I think Roscoe thought it was a moth or something.
as soon as I get my next 3 rolls of film developed I'll be posting some great pics of my boys soaking up some sumbeams too. They kept trying to push each other over to try and get more of the rays. so cute.
