I came across so pictures of my dachshund that went to the bridge a year ago this month.
I got Dixie 6 years ago with an ex-boyfriend. We broke up when Dixie was 9 months old (Harley's age). I stayed friend's with my ex-bf and saw Dixie grown up to a pretty litttle girl.
A year ago, he went on vacation for a month and left the dog with his parents. When he got back they said something was wrong with Dixie. She was laying around and crying when she moved. He immediately called the vet and got her an apointment the next day. At this point she was already paralyzed and in alot of pain. The chances for an operation were slim to none at this point. I was there when Dixie passed over to Rainbow Bridge. She was 5 years old.
Harley would have had fun playing with her.

Such a pretty little girl. She will be glad you are thinking of her. And yes, Harley would've loved to play with her. ;) Sorry you lost her so young.

What a pretty B & T. That was pretty young for a Dachsie to go.

She was precious! I'm sure Dixie is playing with my Fritz-Angel. He was a black/tan mini and he got paralyzed in the snow in January 1978. He and my parents' poodle, Sammy, were having a leg-heisting contest. The vet only gave him a 5% chance of recovery, so we sent him to the Bridge. I mourned him for over a year, so I know exactly how you feel! :hugs1: Julia B.

I always read these memorials and it gets me all teary eyed. The stories are always so sad, yet beautiful. We are fortunate that we have the opportunity to bond with these wonderful animals in the way that we do. There are people at work, or in my life, that I know think I'm crazy for loving my dogs the way I do, and I feel sorry for them, because they won't know what it's like to feel this kind of love. She was a beautiful little girl and I'm sorry she had to go so soon.

Dixie Lynn was such a pretty little girl. I'm sorry that she had to go at such a young age. It must have been devastating. Dixie Lynn is happily playing now with all our little angels.
