I'm putting this here, because if one of these kids aggrevates a skunk, we'll hear about it here, won't we?

Everyone's heard about tomato juice for skunk attacks, but I've never really found that it works all that well.

A German lady clued my in to another remedy years ago. Keep some envelopes of Massengill's Powdered Douche handy. (It DOES have to be the powder). Mix with water & SATURATE the dog's coat with it. Let it sit for about 15 minutes (or however long you can hold the dog), then rinse well. If you've got leftovers, do it again, then rinse.

It really does work well. I'm not saying that it will take away every bit of odor, but nothing I've ever used did, either. But it seems to work best of all. And it's simple.

If you take your weiner on camping trips with you, be sure to slip a few envelopes into his ditty bag.

OK, that's it. Now I've heard it all!! And Sue, I love the way you just matter-of-factly put that out there: "If your wiener dog has an encounter with a skunk, apply douche powder liberally for that clean and fresh-as-springtime smell!"

I happen to know one of the heads of sales training at SmithKline Beecham, which makes that particular brand. I'm gonna pass this info along to him. Maybe the salespeople can use it!!! /ubb/smilies/lol.gif /ubb/smilies/lol.gif /ubb/smilies/lol.gif

I'm sure the guys would rather use tomato juice if they had to drive 150 miles to get it!

Would feminine deoderant spray in the baby powder scent help much? Aaaaah-chooooo!

When my lab Diva got bit in the neck by Sadie Mae some years back it bled so much I tied a kotex around the wound until it quit.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Thanks for the tip, Penny's Aunt. /ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif
