Today I noticed that Gaudi brought something into the house with him when he came back in. I followed him and saw that it appeared he was carrying a small pine cone (which is something he occasionally plays with). He settled down on the carpet and started munching, but I thought I didn't want to get bits of pine cone all over the floor so I went to take it away from him...when I saw it was not a pine cone. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/confused.gif I thought it was a dead baby mouse and called for my husband as he is the one who deals with gross stuff around here. When he came over he announced it was not a small mouse...but a rat head! And he assured me a "fresh one". Augh! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/crying.gif I wonder if this is the rodent Wotan and Shakti were digging madly for two days ago near the driveway? I did see a strange cat around recently so I guess that's what happened to the rat. Hope the body isn't around anywhere for the dachsies to discover!http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/eek.gif

I bet Gaudi was not too happy when you took his new found chew toy away! I can just imagine the looks he gave you!! You never know what these little critters will find and bring home to mom & dad.

I didn't think that it was possible to be laughing and disgusted at the same time. Briget----you get the prize for grossness today!
It's bad enough when Isobel rolls is dead things . . . .but she has yet to bring body parts into the house. How mean mom and dad are to take his precious and hard-won rat head away from him!!!!

Minimuscle says the Peninsula Pack was just interrogating the enemy when it lost it's head and told all.
Shame on dad for ending that session- who knows what could have been learned from the rest of that head...

Yuck! How I understand. When we bought our house in March it was 8 arces of gophers and thier holes. Six months later my 5 kids have taken care of the problem, many of them in the house. Now they are catching (and eating) birds. How they do that I don't know.

Boy do I understand what that is like, Bridget. When I had Max, we lived next to an empty lot and he would go over there and catch jack rabbits and bring me the uneaten pieces. Nasty!!! I guess he loved me and wanted me to share in his catch http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/eek.gif
Oh, the ways those wieners show their affection.
Teresa
PS: and that is the least gross of the stories I can share!!
