ESCAPE!!!!

Last night I was lying on the sofa watching ER. Button drug the welcome mat into the living room to chew on. (Like she doesn't have enough chew toys) I got up to take it away from her and noticed that she and Buddy were the only dogs in the living room. I started calling and noticed the back door standing wide open. /ubb/smilies/eek.gif The yard around my new house isn't fenced yet so I panicked. I ran to the door and started calling. Whopper was at the bottom of the steps, Wheeler was sniffing the van tires and Rita was headed down the driveway. I managed to round them all up and get them back in the house. Katie was standing in the middle of the road barking at nothing and Pippin was no where in sight. /ubb/smilies/eek.gif Ran down the road, calling. Bless his heart, he had gone to the gate at the old house and was waiting for me to let him in. /ubb/smilies/smile.gif There were a bazillion bugs and mosquitoes in the utility room from the door being open but I managed to get everybody back safe and sound. I've got to get the yard fenced and the door adjusted. /ubb/smilies/frown.gif

Sounded like you had a real wienerdog roundup! Glad everybody's home now. That can really panic dachsie parents to have their kids on the loose. Dolly is great at moving between legs and out to our common area. My saving grace is that she is soooo predictable. Runs out to the common area to chase kittycats. Last time I had to round her up was about 2 weeks ago. This in high heels about 10 at night. Found her and her accomplice, Maddie at the furthest end of our condo property. Arrrrrrgh!!!! But ya gotta love 'em!

This is the time when one of those fancy, expensive ducky-quacky toys can come into play. If your had an electronic squeaky toy that drives weenies crazy- just set that thing off when they run off. I guaruntee the babies will be back, at a dead run in secs.

Then give them a treat while you seal off the escape hatch!
