We live in an older wooden house, that is about a foot off the ground, we needed to move our cable lines and since Jazzy loves to run under the house from one side to the other, we came up with the idea to have her help us.......my husband tied a long string to her collar and carried her to one side of the house, i got on the other side, (i'm her favorite person) he put her on the ground, i called her and she came running straight across, i untied the string and gave her a treat for the help, we were able to tie the cable to the end where she had started and pull it under the house with ease.......mission accomplished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like Jazzy earned her kibble that day. I read your new member post it's great to have another adult dog rescue join the group.

Heh, I've read about ferrets being used exactly this way, and saving their owners THOUSANDS of dollars by doing what would take humans days to do--all for a little treat.

Not that I'm advocating sending our pets out to construction sites, but if you think your little doxie baby can run through a small space to do something like move cables--you should see a ferret take off through a piece of conduit--it's like PLAYTIME for them (as a matter of fact, our ferrets have PVC pipe tunnels to play in b/c they like them so well...)
