I'm in Love!!!

Shelbie here. I've just come back from the park and I met a standard longhaired boy who was a beautiful autumn red colour and I think I'm in love.<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm26.gif" border=0> Luckily for me, not five minutes earlier I'd rolled in something really stinky so when he came up to say hello I was smelling my best. Sigh! I'm a bit shy normally with other dogs but when he wandered off I followed him in what Mum and Dad said was a very girly manner and got a kiss (giggle). Mum and Dad said something about how it was a good job I'd been "done" I presume they meant smelling so wonderful. Anyway, didn't get his name but will make sure I go to the park same time next week - Mum says she think he might be called Mel Gibson from the looks I was giving. PS she is such a meany it was straight in the bath for me when I got home but even that hasn't upset me - is it just me or is the sky really blue today?!<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm20.gif" border=0>

When I was young and flirty, like you, I had a boyfriend too. His name was Rocky. <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm38.gif" border=0> He was a 75-pound, attack-trained Doberman who looked just like me...except that he had long legs, prick ears, and a stumpy tail...but I loved him anyway! Rocky's dad was a Cook County corrections officer who lived two houses away, and whenever we happened to be out walking at the same time, Rocky would drag his mom or dad to wherever I was. I would immediately roll onto my back and wag my tail (my mother described this behavior as "slutty," but Rocky loved it...which, my mother said, was the proof of the pudding...) and Rocky would kiss me all over. He loved to lick my head. My mom hated it because then I had to have a bath. We would play for a while before Rocky had to go home to guard his dad's house.

Rocky didn't like any other dogs in the neighborhood--he was totally devoted to me. He has gone to the bridge now, and I still miss him so much that whenever I see a big Doberman, I think for just a minute that it might be him.

You girls are so lucky!! I have never had a boyfriend. I am so jealous. My momma had me done too and I think no boys like me now. There aren't very many dogs in my 'hood so maybe that is why i don't got a boyfriend. Best of luck to you, Shelbie. I only hope to find a boy some day too.
