I have a live sized Steiff longhair among my collection of dachsie stuff. My stuffed dachsie collection had been packed away since I moved last year. Saturday I decided to get them out, clean them up and display them on the bed in the spare bedroom. I had just finished "grooming" the longhair and had set him on the bed when Wheeler walked in. He took one look at the stranger on the bed, his hackles came up and he started growling and barking at the strange dog. Cautiously he came up and sniffed it. Then he realized it wasn't real, got a really embarrassed look on his face and casually strolled out of the room, his expression saying, "I knew it was fake all along.

I've seen that very look on the face of the Farfinator! I swear, it seems that they really understand that they have been duped and that they feel abashed!

But that isn't possible...is it??

A life-sized Steiff, eh? Is it old? If so, that's one valuable little toy you've got there! Don't let Wheeler get his jaws NEAR it!!!

The best age we can put on it is around the late 50's early 60's. I also have a Waldi, Raudi, Bazi, and a smaller longhair, whose name I can't remember. I keep my Steiffs and other stuffed collectibles in the spare room where no dogs are allowed. Wheeler is not destructive but the puppies are another story.
