I was home last week and was with Hans and Bean 24/7 so that why I have stories this week.
Anyway, I took Hans and Bean for a walk and about 100 yards from the house, I saw a birdie in the road. It was just sitting there, kind of tweeting, kind of shaking, but just a little. I did not want the bird to get run over so I walked up to it. Hans totally ignored it, and Beanie started to nudge it with his nose, but no one attacked. I picked the bird up in my hand and carried it back to the house. Imagine me holding this handful of bird while being dragged back to the house by the boys!
So I get to the front door, and Gretel, the cat is there, as usual, waiting for us to return. I open the door and let the boys in and they note I am not ocming in with them, so the three of them line up at the screen door to look out.
I thought I would show the bird to Gretel before I took set it in the flower patch. Just as I was bending down, the screen door ajar, the bird freaked out and chirped and jerked. Well, Hans lunged for my hand and chomped on the bird! The poor little birdie's head hanging out, only good thing was that he was killed instantly.
I felt like a real jerk. Here I was trying to save this little bird from getting run over, and I ended up killing him! <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm36.gif" border=0>
Hans would NOT giv eme the bird, so I had to bring him out into the yard until he finally spit it out. UGH!!!!!
