Have you ever flown with your little one?
Cargo or checked?
Give a funny highlight of the trip!
Not a funny highlight, but he flew the first time in Feb 04 to Indiana and did not like being on the floor of the cabin! The hostess' were nice enough to let us keep him on the seat in the middle (strapped in) with his head poking out of his carrier for petting. They loved him! We got the same crew for a connecting flight home and they let us do the same thing.

Sabrina and Seb had flown with us to Vancouver, BC twice last summer. Both did great in their Sherpa bags and didn't have any accidents on either trip. I did sneak them out of their carriers abd held them under a blanket for a short time each. Sabrina sure let us know she was threre, when they started serving food.
Honestly, I was very impressed with our furkids. And I didn't medicate them at all. Sabrina refused to use potty pads in the airport bathrooms and waited each time till we got to a patch of grass. Now, if she could just apply this to our house! Little brat!!!

I can't even getting hoodaddy to fly (except for our honeymoon whenever that will be). Harley will probably never get into a plane. Maybe just long car rides.

We took Otto to Newfoundland 3 years ago. He flew cargo and I was TERRIFIED the entire trip. The nice thing was that it was the busiest day for flying all year (the weekend before xmas) and the Air Canada folks were amazing - they had pre heated the hold of the plane and when he rejoined us in the St. John's airport, he was happy and bouncy! We'd loaded him up with every piece of clothing possible - so if anything he was a little too warm!
Chris also discovered the pleasant side effect to traveling with your dog - lots and lots of attention from roving groups of flight attendants when we were walking through the airports!

We bought Charlie from a Breeder 3 hours (by car) away. We had him flown on a small plane in a tiny kennel. He sat right behind the pilot!!

Rieke and Tinki flew with me from Germany. Even though I don't see why, the airline had a 15 pound limit including carrier, otherwise I could have had both of them in one carrier. So instead Rieke went in a crate as luggage, Tinki in the cabin. Tinki was supposed to stay in the carrier during the flight, but as I had a whole middle row to myself I had her on my lap under a blanket. Whenever i had to use the restroom, a girl from the row in front of me would sit in my row and 'watch the blanket'. Tinki slept most of the time, drank a little of my water and held it all nine hours!
I got to see Rieke again in Detroit, where I had to declare her and take her out of the crate. I didn't even have time to let her go pee, but had to run to the next plate. I refused to board the plane until I knew Rieke was on board. I insisted. They have walkie talkies, I had just seen her... Finally word that she had made it. Tinki barked a little on the leg to Milwaukee, because this time she had to stay in the carrier and didn't like it.
In Milwaukee I collected Rieke (every passing minute seemed to take hours!) and let both of them finally outside to pee. They had held it for over 12 hours! Rieke was not shook up at all. She did great!!!
I would not ship her in cargo again if I could help it at all. My nerves were shot!
By the way, they never checked the dogs papers or shot records at all!!!!

I fly two or three times ayear and noramlly always take my wobbly wonder or GOOSEMan with me. Both fly in the cabin with me and I always try to keep the set next to me empty. I hve never had aproble holding either on my lap under a blankie.
Sicne Sassy is a cart wonder when we are at the airport and I let her wheel around she gets a lot of attention.
