Just when we start to think that Annie couldn't possibly get more "creative" with her antics...yep, you guessed it. One of our neighbors has a rat terrier that is about 2 months older than Annie. They have formed their own mutual admiration society. Every time they take him outside he wants to run to our house, and vice versa. Well, my daughter was taking Annie out yesterday and DID NOT have her leash on BEFORE she opened the door, so of course, she was off like a flash and to the neighbors' house before she could be caught. Unfortunately, they're doing some minor remodeling in their living room and kitchen (painting and wallpapering) and they had their front door open because they had been carrying stuff in and out. Annie ran right in the house and against a wall that had been freshly painted. My neighbor grabbed her and carried her home, holding her out in front of her. She told us she thought Annie may have just wanted a new "color look." Well, she definitely got it! Anyone have any ideas about removing paint from a very short haired, smooth dachsie? Who up to now had the most gorgeous red, SHINY coat? But who now has a partially gorgeous, red, SHINY coat, and partially khaki-striped coat? (Looked great on the kitchen wall...not so great on the dog!)

When we repainted my daughter's room Penny ended up with some lovely "pale sunshine" paint on her coat. It was latex thankfully so should have washed off easily with warm soapy water, but Penny has never been big on baths and it was freezing outside..... I sprayed her with Avon skin-so-soft moisturizing dry oil body mist. (whew - they need to shorten that name!) Anyway the oily spray loosened the paint and it was easily brushed away with a rubber grooming brush. The few stubborn little clumps that didn't brush out got an extra squirt of skin-so-soft and then were easily picked out with my fingernails!
If the khaki paint that's decorating Annie is NOT latex I'd still try to remove it with skin so soft or baby oil.

Good Luck!

Hans has gotten paint on him as well, my own fault for not seperating him when I paint. I use some warm water and it comes right off. It usually only a spot though, not a whole side!
