Rudy Roo here pupperoos.
I am now a proven silent, stealthy hunter. I caught and killed a birdy today. My daddy was so proud -he hates them big ole blackbirds that keep eating all the birdy food and keep the purty birds away. Mommy don't know what to think. I just snucked up and waited. Then BAM! I bit it good and shook it hard. Bye Bye Birdy. I am so low I can hide in the landscaping and wait to make my move. Mom thinks I must be part kitty, the way that I hunt -no barking just sleek stealthy moves.

I'm so proud of you Rudy Roo!! Owen works extra hard at keeping all areas bird free. They were dive bombing him last year in Uncle David & Uncle Jamie's back yard, but he's not standing for it this year! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif He also does what he can to keep the beach birdie free, but has yet to catch one. You're so lucky!!
He did snarf around last week at a friend's house and bring out a long dead lizard sans tail. He found the tail a couple hours later and brought it out for a snack. We took it away though. Us humans always ruin the dachsie's fun!

Farfel and Peaches here, Rudy! We applaud your courageous act against bird-dom...or we would applaud if our front feet would meet... I, Farfel, killed a baby pigeon a couple of years back. Quick and easy, just as you said. For some reason, my mommy became hysterical and made me drop the carcass. Then, when we went into the house, she cried. Sheesh! Who can understand 'em? It was a PIGEON, for heaven's sake!

Rudy! You are now a MAN! Maybe your Hoomans will mount the bad birdy on the wall for you to relive your fine moment!
BIMs can be trouble-we have soooo many of them here. I chase the goose, but she isn't fun anymore. I chase the woodpecks, but they only laugh and refuse to come out of their trees. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/angryfire.gif
Note for Pamela: if you cried buckets for a pidgy- you'd be dried out around here after the chicken serial killers had their way with my chick-chick girls http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/angry.gif

Kojak hasn't killed a birdy yet but he charges the picture window and scares away the hummingbirds who come to the feeder! He did run down and kill a little pine squirrel that got in the house. I was really surprised at the little couch potato!http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

Cleo and Winnie Wiener here. A blackbird - we are most impressed! We've caught lots of mice, but they're easy for a dachsie. When we go after birds, we race across the yard, yapping our heads off. Never had any luck. We'll have to try this kitty-type stalking you do (much as we loathe the idea of imitating CATS!). Farfel and Peaches, don't feel bad about your mom's reaction to your successful pigeon hunt. OUR hoomans actually catch mice in glue traps, then use mineral oil to release them down the road aways. I, Cleo, tried to stop this once by eating the mouse off the trap first, but then my paw got stuck and everybody laughed at me. You can never figure hoomans out!

Becky Ann chased her first bird this evening. She was so funny running for all she was worth with those little legs moving 500 miles an hour. She didn't even get close to the silly bird, but she thought she had done a great thing, and demanded much praise and applause. Aren't these pups the most hilarious little babies?

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guys this is Rudy and guess what mommy just told me????
A Kitty must of got my spoils!!! Can you Believe the nerve of a kitty coming into MY YARD!!! Mom thought daddy picked up the remains of my kill and dad thought mom did, but that dead ole birdy was GONE the next time I went outside. We have a 6ft wooden fence, so a kitty would be the only thing to climb over it in the daytime. If it had been night a raccoon opossum or owl might of done it. I didn't even get to roll on it first http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif !

Rudy!
I have observed those BIMs and maybe this one was "Day Of The Living Dead Bird" !
Be careful it isn't a zombie now- one peck of it's sharp, horrible beak can turn you into a dachsie without a soul! The "cat" may just be a clever cover story those BIMs from Beyond are circulating. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/sick.gif
Good advice to roll in it quick next time- that way you can make sure it's flat.

George and Dauber here, wow, we're proud of you. George says he caught a mole in our back yard. He was reclining on the grass when a mole popped his head up out of the ground right in front of him. Whack, it was over in a second! They're up for bugs, actually licked a spider off the wall the other day, squirrels (of course) and any bird that's dumb enough to land near them. Oddly enough, we have a parrot and they all get along fine. Go figure.

Shucks Guys! It wasn't that hard. Birds aren't as smart as dachsies. Look at all the ones that fly into glass windows and doors!!!
Just sit still, they will think you are a cement statue dog, wait for the right moment, then stick out your neck and bite em. Bite hard and shake em good. Bingo! Dead birdy.
You can do it Dukey!!!!

Hmmm, wouldn't it be easier just to wait till mom gets home and she will give us goodies?
