It was around a month ago that Maggie was battling arthritis. I could tell her spirits were down, because she was always frustrated at being stiff all the time. I felt so sorry for her, because she just wasn't herself anymore. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/kfrown.gif I decided to change her food over to FRR, and I added a flax seed oil supplement. What a change that's made! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

She's been moving around remarkably well, and it definitely showed today. My dear sweet little Maggie caught a bird today! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/shock.gif

As soon as she saw it, she took off and I knew that bird was in for it. She finally ended up pinning it down in the field next to our house. I had to pull her off kicking and screaming, but she had already managed to pull some feathers off. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/devil.gif I carried her back to the house, and as soon as I put her down, she tried to take off after the bird again. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/devil1.gif

The bird must have escaped, because Maggie couldn't find it when we went out for our walk later.

I felt sorry for the bird, but I have to admit--it was great to see Maggie moving so fast again! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

Too bad for that hapless birdy, but oh what a day for Maggie!! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/bounce.gif I also feed my girls FRR and also throw in some Missing Link with Glycosomine Condritin about 4 times a week. It was made a world of difference in Dolly's activity level. She actually LIKES to run now. Before it was just too much work.

You go Maggie!

Wotan caught himself a nice fat little mousie last week...

I'm thinking about starting a trophy wall for all of his sporting conquests! Isn't that a scary picture: woodrats, birds, mice, crickets, spiders, frogs and anything else he happens to catch...

http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/flower.gif I'm very curious as to what FFR and Missing Link are? I have my critters on people Glucosamine/Chondroitin and something called Dr. Maggie's but I'm always looking for a great supplement/food? http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/flower.gif

Another commercial food with Glucosamine/Chondroitin is AVO's Active Care. You can check it out at www.avoderm.com (http://www.avoderm.com) The hardest part with the AVO products can be locating a distributor since they choose not to sell through any if the chains.

Good luck,

Go Maggie!!! Stinker and Tess approve of the birdie catch.

Mr. Wiener will support Missing Link! It has Omega 3 and 6 Fatty acids also and has really helped his coat. I got it at PetsMart. Now I am trying it on Miss LuLu's wirey coat since she tends to have dry skin. Rena

Nutro's "Natural Choice" blend has Glucosamine/Chondroitin in it and is available in stores.
