We had a lot of rain today. As a result, there are a lot of worms out. When my mom took Timber outside earlier today, he was trying to eat worms and was actually rubbing his face against the worm!http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/silly.gif
I know cats rub themselves against objects that they are claiming for their own, but I didn't know a dog would do that! Has anyone seen their dachsies do this?

Haven't ever seen Wo rub a worm- he rolls in dead ones though...

Yes, Annie loves to roll in dead worms too. For years I tried to figure out what it was she found to roll in that smelled so foul--I never smelled it except on the top of Annie's head after she'd been outside rolling. I think Timber is just trying to put that irresistible worm scent behind his ears to attract the ladies.

Omar rolls in dead worms too. Omar is always on the look out to roll in something. Omar loves to roll in things that are appealing to him but totally disgusting to me. Do not even get me started about bird droppings. yuk!

Isobel is an equal-opportunity worm rubber; live or dead she just loves to rub the top of her head on them. I, too, had a hard time figuring out just what it was that smelled so funky on the top of her noggin, then one day I busted her---she had worm parts stuck in her long ear hair. Eeeeeuuuuuwwwwww! Great fun tryin' to get that out.

Ah yes, worms. Wheeler considers them a choice treat. One can roll on them to get that enticing perfume and then eat them for a tasty treat. What more could one ask?

I'ts a joke in our house we say Oh I smell worms when it rains and the dogs line up at the back door to roll on the as soon as they get out the door.Yep longhairs are more fun we get to pick out the worm hair if we don't find them all they will try to roll on each other.
