Okay, what IS a mommy to do? My Maddie has eaten so much of her
blankie that it is more holey than blankie. This evening, it was
gorgeous out on the upstairs deck so I threw her blanket out there as
she likes to lie on it and sunbathe. Hubby came upstairs and
commented that Madderoo was dining Al Fresco. There that little
squirt was. Enjoying the sunshine and sucking on her blankie! She
never takes too much at a time, but definitely swallows some each
night. This little girl is a rescue and we think she was weaned too
early. Any suggestions to curb this behavior?

no real suggestions from here...but Henry has a similar habit. He has always had his "baby" (okay we are getting ready to replace number three). Whenever he is tired, he chews/sucks on his baby. He doesn't eat his baby...just kind of makes a gumming action with it. He's 3 1/2 and has had his baby (a baby) since the day we brought him home as a puppy. His baby goes on trips with us and goes to bed with us.

Occassionally I smuggle his baby out to wash it. And we have replaced it twice and are getting ready to reaplce number three.

Just thought it might be a similar situation.

Mitzi also does this with her reb bear. She mainly does it when she is sleeply and ready to snuggle on the couch.
