I was just curious if anyone used a nice fresh smelling "doggie deoderant" in between baths. :dunno: I would bathe Ally less if I had something to freshen her up in between baths. What is good to use? It cant be anything stinky but a fresh girly smell would be nice. :ksmile:

Yes, I used this coconut / pinapple (basically it smells like pina coladas) on Pogo & Pixel...makes them smell really yummy for about 1/2 hour then they go to sleep and wake up smelling like natchos and popcorn again! I had to stop using it though, it seemed to make Pogo sneeze for about 5 minutes, so it's not really worth it for our household, they don't ever smell really bad anyway -that's just one more thing I love about dachshunds! ;)

A lot of people just use a babywipe for in-between freshning up. You can get that baby powder smell one.

Yes, baby wipes are a great idea! I use them on their paws when they come in from the mud, and for Pogo's anal gland issues. I will start using them for their in-between baths too. Thanks!!

Ok, so who was the nacho and who was the popcorn?
Oh my gosh...I haven't laughed so hard in so long! That is exactly the smell I am trying to mask.
No that wouldn't be good if it made them sneeze for 5 minutes!
I think I am going to try the baby wipes...I have plenty of those at my house! :luvlove:

I love the frito feet smell too.

We do use the Nature's Miracle wipes on Tasha's paws and belly (and back if she's been rolling) after walks which is supposed to help with dander too I think.

There is this cologne they have at the do-it-yourself dog wash...it's called Crazy Dog I think. The baby powder smells good and lasts for a few days. They have other scents too!

Just a reminder - if you or your dog has any allergy issues, avoid perfumes of all types. Most folks don't realize this, but most "scent" oriented products are petrolium based - as such, they give off more active particulates than a lit cigerette! Very, very bad for anyone with allergies or lung issues.

Ok, so who was the nacho and who was the popcorn?

Pogo is Definately a nacho and Pixel is my popcorn feet. Like my pups, I too am food motivated, so I really do like the smell...hmmm, they don't seem to enjoy me nibbling on them though?!? :)

I use Mink Oil conditioner on my guys to protect the coat from FL sun. It comes in a spray and smells rather good. It lasts for about 2 days ( if they don't roll in something nasty right away because they hate the smell) and it's good for their coats. Hubby prefers natural dachsie smell.

I can't stop laughing! After i read this post i had to smell Casey's feet.
His front paws smell like popcorn! I love it! I am so addicted to popcorn.

Casey must have thought I was some kind of nutter :dizzy: , taking big wifs of his feet.
I never smelled his feet before reading this post! I will need to ask hubby to take a piacture of it.

I use baby wipes for in-betweens. He smells so good normally! He's great for my allergies, until he claws me then i get a raised area, but it's worth it! I get the baby wipes with aloe in them and use them once in while.

Amazingly he still has that "puppy breath" especially when sleeping. It's so nice! Wish they could can that!

I use the Fresh Berry Freshening Spray from Pro Pet Salon (PetCo/Petsmart) on my girls inbetween baths. They smell soooo pretty!
