Hi Guys,

It looks like Frank and I may be fostering a refugee and may make him a long term addition to our home. I don't know many details yet other than he is young (not sure what that means) a black and tan long hair, not sure if he is a standard or mini. He has some problems with kids and needs out of his current foster home ASAP. They say he gets along well with other dogs. His name is Tanner and if things check out when I can exchange some more information we may meet this weekend. I believe he is in Denver right now which is about sixty miles from Fort Collins where I live. This could be just the chance Frank and I need to test drive some one before making a lifetime commitment. I had planned on another female but if Tanner makes it in to our home I suspect he will stay unless he is a real little devil.

Tom, this is very exciting! I hope fostering is a good experience for you, and hope even more that Tanner turns out to be irresistible! I have had the male/female combo (super-sized!) for many years and have found it to work very well, so we're all keeping our fingers crossed hereabouts!

It's officialhttp://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/bounce.gif Tanner will be coming on Saturday. Unless there is some immediate problem we have the OK for a one week trial foster time. I suspect after the first day he will have a home for life. He is a mini long hair black and tan dapple, they think he is less than two years old, other than needing a dental he is in good general health. All that is known about his background is that he was put in the night drop box at the Denver Dumb Friends League. They save he is very shy and that is why the would prefer a home with no children. His foster mom of 2.5 months says he has made a lot of progress already. He does well with other dogs. Since Frank is a standard but only about nine months old it looks like he will soon have a little big (older) brother. Wish us luck.
