When my sister and I adopted Maggie and Hershey back in July, my parents always swore NO DOGS IN THE HOUSE. Naturally, it didn't take long before the two adorable wiener dogs were allowed in at certain times. Now the two undoubtedly own the place. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smirk.gif

I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but at some point, Maggie became the queen of the household. She has totally won over my mom (and that's not an easy task for a dog). As for my dad, well, I think Maggie has him wrapped around her little paw as well....

Every night when he comes home, Maggie runs up to him and does her usual barking "hello". She then hangs out in the kitchen, because she knows that he will most likely start cooking something. (Maggie has ALWAYS been fed by this time, but you would never believe it by watching her in action.)

If my dad doesn't start cooking when Maggie thinks he should, she starts barking her head off... "GRANDPA, where are you going? I am HUNGRY! Make me some FOOD!!!".

It's very entertaining to watch, but I do have to separate them sometimes when grandpa just can't resist that begging l@@k! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif

Vicki, what a cute picture!! Your dad looks as if he's about to burst into a big grin! Very glad the dogs found their way inside, and not surprised at all that Maggie has taken over. She IS a dachshund, after all! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif
